WE MADE IT! The 100 Day Citizenship For All Campaign officially ended on May 1st, 2021.
But, the fight for citizenship for all undocumented immigrants regardless of age, country of origin, or history with incarceration still goes on! Stay up to date on our fight by signing up for our NAKASEC email newsletter. Learn more about us at nakasec.org. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram :)
Our time is now.
For the first time in more than 10 years, we have before us an incredible political opportunity. Thanks in no small part to Black, Brown, Asian, and immigrant organizers in Georgia and across the United States, a Democratic trifecta is set to take power in our Congress and the White House, paving the way for a political landscape that makes organizing on the offense for Citizenship for All possible.
Immigrant communities cannot wait anymore. We refuse to watch elected officials continue to squander opportunities to pass meaningful immigration reform while millions of immigrants are deported, tearing apart families and communities. The Biden administration and Congress must be held accountable to his promises to legislate a pathway to citizenship for more than 11 million undocumented immigrants and end all detentions and deportations.
Take action for citizenship for all!
Storytelling
We will share out one story every week over the first 100 days for a total of 14 powerful stories. Because immigrant narratives are saturated in “deservingness” language that uplifts young, educated, able-bodied immigrants at the expense of others, our goal is specifically to uplift immigrants who are traditionally excluded first from immigration bills because they are deemed “undeserving.”
Phonedogging
In the spirit of “bird-dogging,” we will be driving calls to Congress and the White House every single day for all 100 days with our demands! With the goal of placing at least 11,000 calls for the 11 million undocumented immigrants, our community will come together everyday in a remote Zoom session to ensure that Congress and the White House feel the public pressure to pass citizenship for all. We are also sending emails to Congress every day!
Daily DC actions
We plan to host a daily presence in front of the White House and Capitol for all 100 days in the form of vigils, rallies, and other visibility activities. Our presence in Washington, D.C. will elevate our demands and create the urgency necessary to ensure that immigration remains a legislative priority for the Biden administration.
Butterflies
Our campaign team believes in the power of spirit and energy! We plan to hang craft butterflies on the fence surrounding the White House during our daily actions. We are currently accepting butterfly submissions in the form of origami, drawings, etc, from community members across the country to illustrate the beauty and intrinsic nature of migration.
Petition signatures
In addition to driving calls to Congress and the White House every day, we will be collecting petitions both online and in person at our daily vigil in front of the White House to heighten the pressure on our elected officials to pass citizenship for all.
